Great Mother's Day already...I'm so thankful...

I am so thankful and excited - Erika has arrived in Wilmington safe and sound and is there with Jack. It was tough not to get into the Jeep and drive there this afternoon and be there when she rolled in but I know she was exhausted and it would've been tough to visit a couple hours and drive 3 hours back home. I'm off Wednesday so we'll either head there Tuesday night and spend the day Wednesday (which also happens to be Ethan's 20th birthday! Yippee!) or she'll come here and spend a few days. Regardless, she's close and reunited with her dear husband and just being within a few hours driving distance is just a great feeling! I love you, Erika, and I'm so grateful and give such thanks for your safe arrival through the snow and ice and storms through Wyoming and Nebraska - I love you and I hope the next two days pass quickly so we can be together! I've missed you so much! What an awesome way to begin the week of Mother's Day!

Ethan had a dirty day removing the alternator from his Jeep and doing some automotive repairs. It was a messy job but he learned so much and I'm so proud of him. In the process of taking it to the parts place Ethan and Grandaddy (my daddy) came by the hospital and had lunch with me Friday and it was so nice. I enjoyed "showing them off!" This photo was taken at the end of the job - yuck, Ethan, you can't come to supper until you clean up some! Ha! He did a great job repairing his Jeep.

Addison enjoyed a somewhat quiet weekend but did some great things. Friday night she had a date with Wesley and some friends to Sandhills. She was a wonderful help with some household chores Friday and Saturday and then Saturday evening she thoroughly enjoyed volunteering at the Special Olympics. This is something close to Addi's heart, especially after caring for her precious step-sister who was handicapped and passed away 2 years ago. Addison has such a giant heart, especially with those with special needs. Thanks, Addi, for making a difference.

My weekend started off and ended well. After picking up Joey from work Friday night he and I went "car looking" and then to Arby's for dinner. I tease Joey about having a hard time getting into his truck and this time he made me close my eyes for a surprise when we were done with dinner. I opened them to find his ladder from the back of the truck for me to step up on - it was hilarious! (Check out my flip-flops with scrubs - I'd shed my Dansko's already not knowing we'd be getting out anywhere! ha!) He's so full of surprises! Saturday I cleaned both the house and washed all the vehicles (including Joey's truck to surprise him) then he and I had a date when he got off work. We went to a new place this time - Schiano's for a greek salad and pizza and to do a little brousing at Sandhills. Church was good today (Testimony Meeting is always wonderful!) and then Ethan, Addi, and I had a nice slow Sunday afternoon even getting a nap in. We didn't go to Mom's today (doesn't seem like Sunday without going there - but we had a nice slow day at home) then tonight we had dinner when Joey was done with work and he entertained Addison, Wesley, and me with some guitar playing and singing after dinner. He is so very, very talented and his playing and singing melts my heart. It's been a very nice Sunday.

This week will be a busy but very fun-filled one with much to look forward to. We'll see Erika and Jack, tomorrow evening we plan to get our garden planted for Family Home Evening, Ethan has a big birthday on Wednesday and also has jury duty beginning tomorrow. I have ball practice Tuesday (if I'm not in Wilmington with Erika) and a game Thursday. Addison has a temple trip Thursday with the youth and Mother's Day is this weekend. I have a busy week planned at work with all the festivities which have been organinzed for Nurses' Week and a celebration I hope all will enjoy.
I hope everyone has a wonderfully safe and happy week!

It is always so nice to read what is going on with everyone! I enjoyed sitting next to all of you at church!
